EuroNanoForum fuels the debate on how to promote Sustainability by Design

The vision EU policymakers have in the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) is that “Chemicals are produced/used in a way that maximises their benefits to society while avoiding harm to the planet & people and production and use of safe and sustainable chemicals in Europe becomes a benchmark worldwide”. This reflects the journey to sustainability that the chemical industry has embarked on, as well as the EU vision for 2050.

The concept of “Safe and sustainable-by-design” will determine the future of not only chemical innovation but also chemical markets. Grounded in the latest cutting-edge science, it should further the development of chemicals that are safe for humans and the environment, offer an improved environmental footprint, and deliver the expected performance and value to stakeholders throughout the value chain.

And following this, work the European Green Deal defines a clear vision and objectives to put the European economy and society on a sustainable pathway, in particular, to move towards climate neutrality, a circular economy and a zero pollution/toxic-free ambition. The key for this societal transformation will be the transition to a safe and sustainable by design approach so that chemicals, materials and products are designed, produced and used in a way that does not harm people and the environment.

Want to learn how EU's agenda for achieving a cleaner and more competitive Europe, where safe and sustainable products are the norm, improving their durability, reusability, upgradability and reparability, and addressing the presence of hazardous chemicals?

Come and join us at the EuroNanoForum 2021 and learn how the EU will conquer the ambitious Green Deal goal that the current Presidency of the European Commission established, of turning Europe into the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050. This is your opportunity to join and meet and challenge young influencers, senior experts and European leaders to stimulate critical and innovative thinking about embedding sustainability criteria throughout the whole life cycle of products and processes to propel Europe's recovery and resilience and make all this process a natural one while supporting the setting up of a safe, carbon-neutral, and resource-efficient industrial eco-system.
